• Electronics Engineering

    The main aim of the Department of Electronics Engineering is to train pilot candidates who have gained competence to deal with technical and managerial issues with an engineering viewpoint. The technical infrastructure of the Turkish Air Force’s mission to build effective air and space power is based on rapidly developing electronic systems. Electronics engineering is a four-year undergraduate program which successfully accomplishes its mission with academics who follow up to date academic researches, applied labs and its academic curriculum. The graduate officers of the Electronics engineering are able to continue their master’s and doctorate degrees at home and abroad according to the needs of the Turkish Air Force. In order to meet the requirements of the future aviators, Department of Electronics Engineering provides education with two departments: Control Systems and Communication. These two departments provide education with distinguished academics from Turkish Air Force Academy and other universities in Istanbul.

    Control Systems Division
    Control Systems is one of the engineering disciplines which produce and apply the technology and information which enable electronic, mechanic or computer-based systems work efficiently. Most of the aircrafts, weapons and support systems in the inventory of Turkish Air Force have these control systems. Control Systems Division has lectures about the theory and the application of control, automation, measurement and instrumentation, robotic and computer-based information system design and application. Electronics engineering aims to train air officers who integrate theory and practice with high application skills and high theoretical knowledge at the same time.     Communication Systems Division
    The aim of the Communication Systems Division is to provide cadets with a sound basis of electronic and communication systems and their designs, production and development of these systems, and to give scientific and technical information about these systems. All the communications, air traffic control and satellite systems in the Turkish Air Forces can be given as examples of advanced communication systems. Moreover, new-generation drones deployed for tactical purposes and reconnaissance alongside with Airborne Early Warning Aircraft are gaining more importance. Communication Systems Division endeavors to teach air cadets the theoretical infrastructure of these systems in order for air cadets to control effectively.     Signal Processing and Microprocessors Lab
    Signal Processing and Microprocessors Lab has Intel-based servers and workstation. In this lab, cadets use computer software to practice and perform applications of the courses such as Analogue/ Digital Signal Processing, Electronics and Microprocessors.
    Communication Lab
    Communication Lab has experimental sets of the analogue and digital communication systems. In this lab, practical applications of the Analogue/Digital Communication courses are performed.
    Control Systems Lab
    Control Systems Lab has Automatic Control experimental sets. In this lab, practical applications of the Analogue/Digital Control, Control Systems Theory courses are performed.
    Electronics Lab
    Electronics Lab has Analogue and Digital experimental sets and measurement devices. In this lab, practical applications of the courses such as Analogue/Digital Electronics are performed.
