MAJOR GENERAL ORHAN COŞKUN (29.8.1969-28.8.1972)

 

Maj Gen Orhan COŞKUN was born in Gümüşhacıköy on Sep 19,1923.He attended primary and secondary school in Düzce. He graduated from Kuleli Military High School in 1941 and from Army War Academy on Aug 30, 1943 and was sent to Infantry Shooting School as a third Lieutenant.

After the Infantry Shooting School, he completed his flight training in Eskişehir Air School and in the U.S.A where he went on March 9, 1944.He came back to homeland on December 28,1945.Starting from this date he served as a pilot  at various posts.

He entered the Air War College on Sep 22,1958 and graduated on Aug 10, 1960. He was appointed to Operations Department at TUAF Headquarters on Sep 9 , 1960.

After the three-month course of High Command at Air War College in 1962,he was appointed to TUAF Headquarters Planning and Programming Department as a planning officer and was sent to Italy for two months on the job training(OJT). Following the course, on Sep 30, 1962 he was appointed to AIRSOUTH  in Italy, serving at the Department of Planning and Programming. On Sep 28, 1964 he returned homeland and acted as the General Secretary of TUAF Headquarters for one year.

From Aug 29,1965 till Aug 29, 1969  he served as the comandant of the 12th Air Transportation Base where he was appointed for the second time.

In the year Aug 29, 1969 he was appointed as the commandant of Turkish Air Force Academy and served at this job until Aug 28, 1972.

(In the year Aug 30, 1973 he retired at the rank of Major General.)

MAJOR GENERAL KEMAL ZEREN (30.8.1965-29.8.1969)

 

 

 

He was born in Muğla  on April 12, 1921. He attended primary and secondary school in Milas. In the year 1941 he finished Denizli High School and the same year he entered the Army War Academy.In the year Aug 30, 1942 he graduated as a third lieutenant.In the year 1943, completing his training at the Infantry Shooting School and Türk Kuşu , he went to England for pilot training and came back to homeland in 1945.

Until 1953 he served as a pilot at various Air Bases of Turkish Air Force.In the same year he entered the Air War College and graduated in 1955.After graduation he went to France for three months as a staff officer.In his return from France, he graduated from the Joint War Academy.

Between the years 1961 and 1963, he served as the BONN Attache in Germany.

In the year Aug 30,1964 he was promoted to a Brigadiere General and appointed to the Command of Air War College.

He served as the commandant of the Air Force Academy between the years Aug 30, 1965 and Aug 29, 1969.

BRİGADİERE GENERAL MEHMET ŞENGEL (16.8.1963-2.9.1965)

 

 

      Brig.Gen.Mehmet Şengel was born in Nazilli in 1924.He graduated from Maltepe Military High School in 1941,and graduated from Army War Academy in 1943.After being trained for three months at the Infantry Shooting School, he began flight training in Eskişehir Flight School.He went to the U.S.A in 1944 for pilot training and came back to homeland completing his training in December,1945.He served both as a pilot and as a fleet commander in various units.

            In 1951 he entered the Air College.In 1952 he finished the 1st class and became a deputy staff.

            He was sent to the Air University of U.S.A in 1953.

            In the academic years of 1954-1955 he finished the High Commanding Academy.

            Between the years 1958 and 1960 he served as the Military Air Attache in Washington.

            In the years 1960 and 1961 he served as an official chief at the TUAF Headquarters.In June 1961, he was appointed to Missile Base Commad and was sent to the U.S.A.

            In the years Aug 16, 1963 and Sep 2, 1965 he served as the commandant of the Turkish Air Force Academy

STAFF COLONEL OSMAN ALPSÜ (28.8.1961-26.9.1963)

 

Col.Osman ALPSÜ was born in Sinop in 1916.He attended primary and secondary school at Sinop.In the year 1938 he finished Kuleli Military High School and in 1940 he finished Army War Academy.After the Infantry Shooting School, he began flight training at Eskişehir Flight School.After completing his training, he was appointed to Third Aircraft Regiment as a pilot.

He entered the Air War College in 1952. After finishing the first class in 1953, he was appointed to Eskişehir 1st Air Base, 111st fleet operations.

In the years 1954 and 1956, finishing the second class of Air War College, he was appointed to TUAF Headquarters.

In 1958 in the command of Third Air Force, he served as the operations chief. Meanwhile he attended the High Command Course for six months.

In the year Aug 30,1960 he was appointed to the Command of  Firing and Bombardment School.

Between the years Aug 28,1961 and Sep 26, 1963 he served s the commandant of Turkish Air Force Academy.

STAFF CLONEL NECDET DOĞANÇAY (2.8.1960-2.9.1961)

 

Col Necdet DOĞANÇAY was born in Ankara in 1926.He graduated from Kuleli Military High School in 1939 and from Army War Academy in 1941.The same year he had airborne training in the British Royal Air Force College. He came back to Turkey getting the flight wing in 1943.

            After serving at various posts, he was appointed to Air Flight School Command as the platoon commander. So he took part in the establishment of Air Force Academy  and in the first commanding committee. He served at this post until August 1954.At this date, he entered the Air War College and graduated in 1956.

            After this , he served in Eskişehir and Diyarbakır. In the year Sep 3, 1958 he was appointed to Air War College as an instructor and acted this job for two years.

            Between the years Aug 2, 1960 and Sep 2, 1961 he served as the commandant of Turkish Air Force Academy.
